Dinosaurs! CLOSED!

Our popular temporary exhibit entitled Dinosaurs! closed on Sunday, May 13th. SEE, howvever, remains open during its regular public hours.

Dinosaurs! was an important fund raiser for the SEE Science Center. All proceeds from this exhibit will benefit the programs of the SEE Science Center, a hands-on, non-profit science and discovery center for children.

What if SEE earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Well, now we can!

GoodSearch.com is a new search engine that donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. You use it just as you would any search engine, and it’s powered by Yahoo!, so you get great results.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter SEE Science Center as the charity you want to support. Just 500 of us searching four times a day will raise about $7300 in a year without anyone spending a dime! And, be sure to spread the word!

LEGO® Millyard Project Celebrates Final Dedication

On hand for the Dedication on Wednesday, November 29th was Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, owner of LEGO Company, Dean Kamen, Founder of SEE and FIRST, Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta and New Hampshire Govenor John Lynch. After some wonderful words from each of the special dignitaries, the curtain was pulled back for the grand unveiling amidst oohs, aahs and applause.

The Millyard Project is a representation of the Amoskeag Millyard circa 1900 built entirely of LEGO® bricks. This is the world's largest permanent LEGO® installation at minifigure scale. It includes running water in canals and the Merrimack River, as well as a working railroad system. Because of the scale of the project, it has been built in a number of phases over the course of three years.

Three million bricks were used to build this representation of the Amoskeag Millyard. If all the bricks were placed end-to-end, they would stretch from the SEE Science Center all the way to the Museum of Science in Boston and back! The exhibit features many of the buildings in the millyard, old trolley lines and bridges, portions of Elm Street and the old Pine Island Park.

LEGO® Master Builders working with teams of experienced LEGO® builders composed of volunteers from NELUG have constructed this massive exhibit over the course of many "Build Weekends".

The LEGO® Millyard Project is a partnership of the SEE Science Center and LEGO Systems Company Inc., the Americas Division of the LEGO Company. It is presented by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and sponsored by CLD Consulting Engineers Inc. and NELUG. For more information about the SEE Science Center or the LEGO® Millyard Project, please contact SEE at 669-0400 or info@see-sciencecenter.org.
