Special Event!

The SEE Science Center will be celebrating
International Science Center & Science Museum Day

SEE will offer special activities during a special preview afternoon on Tuesday Nov. 6th from 1pm to 4pm. The activities will then be available on both weekend days, Saturday November 10th and Sunday November 11th from 10am to 5pm.

The SEE Science Center will join 300+ other institutions and hundreds of thousands of people on every inhabited continent to call attention to science as a human right and the role of science to work towards the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on November 10th 2018 International Science Center and Science Museum Day (ISCSMD).

At the SEE Science Center visitors will be encouraged to think creatively about reusing materials and recycling (SDG # 12 Responsible consumption and production). Visitors will also be invited to build a community model and think about how the needs of our community fit together (SDG #11 Sustainable Cities and communities). SDG number 6 focusing on clean water will be the focus of an activity where visitors explore how to share our water resources by sending “drops” down tubes to different uses. All of these activities will be included with regular admission of $9 per person ages 3 and up.

Science as a human right is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. The SEE Science Center and locations around the world will be offering activities to increase science awareness and encourage action towards global sustainability. The United Nations SDG’s seek to end poverty, fight inequalities, tackle climate change, and transform our world.
