A Member Exclusive Event
Meet Jeremy Ridel UNH graduate and veteran of nine paleontology expeditions.
Wednesday June 5th
at Citizens Bank Presents Dinosaurs
Presentation followed by Q & A at 6:45pm
Have you ever wondered, (or has your child asked) . . . How do Paleontologists learn about Dinosaurs? Where and how are fossils found? How and why do scientists study fossils?. . . Then this event is for you and your family. Learn from someone who has been there, Jeremy Riedel.
Jeremy A. Riedel is a budding paleontologist currently completing his Master's of Science in Geology at the University of New Hampshire. His current research focuses on whether mammals evolved in response to Earth's warmest climate since the dinosaurs, the early Eocene. When not playing with mammals, Jeremy has spent time excavating Jurassic and Cretaceous dinosaurs in Utah, Montana, and Baja California, as well as time cleaning, studying, and even cutting their bones in museums. During undergraduate work at Marietta College he was delighted to work on yet another type of dinosaur, a giant penguin from New Zealand.
June 5th is also United Nations World Environment Day, the theme of which is: Think, Eat, Save, which promotes local sustainable food products and reduced food waste . To join the United Nations in this year’s theme, we will have samples donated by Stonyfield Organic Yogurt at the event.
Jeremy’s presentation will begin at 6:45 pm, followed by a Q & A session. This is a free event for current SEE Science Center Family Members only. If you need to renew or would like join SEE you can purchase a membership in advance or at the event.
We would appreciate an RSVP from all those planning to attend.
