Announcing the 2012 SEE Science Center Exhibit Challenge!
This challenge is extended to all:
The challenge is to develop, create, design, and produce a hands-on (interactive) exhibit that illustrates a basic principle or aspect of science, technology, engineering, and/or math. The general theme for the 2012 Challenge is Water. Potential exhibitors will submit an on-line application. Please review SEE's exhibit design guidelines here before submitting your idea below.
A committee will review all applications and will present up to 5 applications for community consideration. The total cost of design, fabrication and installation cannot exceed $25,000. Donated materials/labor or funding suggestions are strongly encouraged. The review committee will consider, in addition to the SEE Science Center Exhibit Design Guidelines, other factors such as feasibility of funding, ability of winner to complete the task or to identify how the task will be completed, appropriateness of the topic, size constraints, and any other issue that might impact the successful completion of the Challenge. The committee will only submit for community vote those applications which, in their judgment, would be acceptable additions to the exhibit floor. The committee's ruling is final. The community will vote on social media and one winner will be announced in early 2013.
All fields with a * are required
After the winning announcement, the winner will work with the SEE Science Center staff to plan for the construction, identify funding sources, build, and install the exhibit during the September 2013 shut-down period.
The winner/winning team will be invited guests to the SEE Celebrates 2013 Event and will receive recognition at that event.
